My writing explores and expresses something of the wonder and richness of God's very real love for each of us wherever we are on life's journey. Read with your heart and savour honest words for living.
Seeing in the Dark
poems and reflections for when life gets tough
My working life has brought me alongside many tough situations where I began to question where on earth was God and why didn't he do anything? Slowly I began to understand God to be there for each of us in every aspect of our lives.
Share with me an honest, often personal faith journey in this book. There are those of us picking up the broken pieces of life. Reach out to hold God's hand. Allow God to speak to you.

Listening in the Silence
poems and reflections when God seems distant
"There is a silence beyond words, where speechless prayer is uttered, within the silence God may whisper into our listening."
So begins my second book. I invite you to come in quietness and encounter God through these poems and reflections. However far we may feel from God, God is in the silence. God delights to whisper into our listening.

Touching the Space Between
poems and reflections when God comes near
There is a space for faith between the now and not yet. An unveiling of hope, expectant but as yet unfulfilled. A space where the soul can meet with God. Throughout this collection there is an invitation, an agreeing to let God enter where the space has been.

Kintsugi
The Japanese call it Kintsugi. It's the name used for an art form where broken pottery is repaired and the damage highlighted by painting with lacquer and then dusting with powered gold, or silver or platinum. This tells the history of the piece, rather than disguising the breakage or just throwing it away. It embraces the cracks with precious paint. It lavishes value on the pottery. It becomes a work of art.
I find a parallel to faith in this. Realising we can come to God in our brokenness, in the traumas of life and know God's healing and God's restoring. Knowing the wealth of God's love poured into us to transform us, to create someone of beauty and worth.
We are not thrown away or put out with the rubbish. We are wanted. We are treasured by God. We can know purpose and new direction.
As you reflect on this, perhaps you might like to pen some personal words in your own journal.
